The Combat System
- Luke always looked up to his brother ever since he was a child. His brother would practice sword moves from movies in the lawn outside their house. Luke used to watch that from the window of his room and wished that one day he could do the same moves on an enemy.
- The combat system for Luke is inspired from his brother which gives the game and also the player playing the game the raw emotion and the level of trust between brothers.
- Screen shakes will be used whenever Luke uses a fire or ice ability on an enemy or an object to give the essence of a powerful ability. Even when he flips the switch for a door.
- Animation impacts such as strong thuds etc will be added when Luke fights a boss enemy.
Mechanical Feel
- When Luke dies, a message saying “Game Over” pops up with blood dripping from the top of the screen till the bottom.
Randomness
- Random corpses will be lying around the level to indicate the player that the enemies or the ogres are nearby. This helps the player to quickly understand that he/she should be ready for a combat.
- Breaking the breakable walls not only gives out access to orbs but also releases the trapped ogres onto Luke as an element of surprise.
Music System
Ambient Music
- Deep and ambient sounds play whenever Luke enters a new area of the map or a new level. This creates a level of excitement as well as builds up something interesting in the further parts of the story.
Engaging Music
- As Luke progresses in a level, the speed and the intensity of the background music also increases, creating a wave of adrenaline rush in the players’ mind.
- While in combat, the retro combat music such as music used in Contra etc will be used to ensure the game is engaging enough.
